At the Shades of Beauty LIVE exhibition space, some of the brands were owned by black women and men who started their businesses when they discovered a gap in the market.
These brands were there to display their products for attendees to try and were also given the option to purchase, giving attendees a chance to support the independent black marketplace in the UK.
Many of the brands were UK based business however a few business owners also flew over from the USA for the show.
One of them was the Hollywood Makeup artist Jacque Mgido from Jacque Mgido cosmetics who had come over straight from the USA to introduce her brand to the UK BAME community and showcased the range of looks that can be achieved using her products.
She also carried out a makeup workshop masterclass on the Shades of Beauty LIVE show floor, which had many of the attendees asking questions and also wanting more.
