Cheat Sheet for Sweat Proof Makeup

I have never been a fan of running. I hate running with a passion. Does not matter whether I am running in the gym, in the park or on the beach with the sunset setting behind me. I still hate running.
These days my exercise regime entails kettlebells ( which are the best of the best in weights) and Ashtanga yoga ( which makes you sweat like crazy). In both of these classes. I don’t wear my wig and I am so aware of my hair under a headscarf, I use a lot of hair clips. I also don’t wear any makeup.
So you can imagine my surprise as I walk into class with some ladies wearing wigs and full on makeup. And they look good before and well good after the class (although I suspect they don’t work as hard as me ).
I wanted to know how these ladies were able to look good in class ( being too embarrassed to ask outright) I decided to investigate using good old Google and friends; this is what I found:
There is such a thing called waterproof eyeshadow that can stay put, as you sweat it out at the Gym, or you can use a waterproof eyeshadow primer, such as NYX, which helps the eyeshadow stay put. I would personally go with the primer, as it can be used with your favourite colour palettes, it does not cost too much, and it highlights your eyeshadow beautifully
For eyeliners go for waterproof kohl eyeliners, that still gives the intense colour that you want. Smashbox waterproof KOHL eyeliners are fantastic for this.
For mascaras, again aim for the waterproof variety and make sure you apply at least two layers and allow to dry between each layer.
For the brows, go again for the waterproof kind. There is Wunder2 Wunderbrow Extra Long-Lasting Eyebrow Gel that lasts for 3 days, so you know it will stay put in the humidity of the gym.
The face is a big one and can be quite difficult as everyone has various skin types and sweat differently on your face. However, there are a few hints and tips to help here.
A big thing is to use a primer, on your skin, this can vary and really does depend on your skin type but find one that helps stay put and you on to a winner.
Instead of heavy foundation go for a light foundation like Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15. It comes in a huge range of colours, and Its’s lighter, less likely to cake as you sweat and stays put.
Clinique also does a range of products for face, lips and eyes specifically for humidity proof and sweat proof.
There are so many products for the lips, again go for the waterproof kind, or lip stains, which give a lovely colour to your lips without drying out.
Set your face with setting spray. I recommend trying Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, it does not contain any oil or parabens. Use the spray in either a T or X motion and allow to dry to set.
This is a great way to use the makeup that you already have without going all out and purchasing new products for the gym.
Ok, I am going to give these a try and see if really does the trick. I think I will try on a hot day first and then the gym, that way it is little more controlled.
Give these a try and let me know how it goes
